Our Santa Monica High School SAGE team (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) has earned the title of USA Champions once again! On May 29th, the Santa Monica High School SAGE (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) team competed against the best teams from across the country, and emerged as the SAGE National Champions!
As Champions, we have the privilege of representing the United States of America in the SAGE World Cup competition to be held in Cape Town, South Africa during the last week of July 2010. It is our opportunity to show the International audience what we have accomplished and how we have positively impacted our community and the world through entrepreneurship and civic engagement. It is also our opportunity to keep Santa Monica on the map as world famous for its promotion of free enterprise, sustainable social solutions, education and success.
Our passion shines through our projects such as:
· 3Tier Event Services where student managers/workers receive training and profit sharing for school expenses;
· Tote-a-lly Awesome a student created social venture selling fashionable tote bags made from re-cycled and up-cycled materials, and 60% of the profits go to promoting eco-education through Heal the Bay and SAGE;
· Vikes Inn & Café an on-campus, student managed 2-venue business, internationally recognized for its accomplishments;
· T ‘N ‘T: a joint venture with Tote-a-lly Awesome and Team Marine to promote environmental education and civic action for a sustainable lifestyle.
